Salvation is what God does for you
The Bible clearly describes salvation as the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, (9) not of works, lest anyone should boast."
That is good news because it means anyone can be saved.
This is not salvation by works, or by your own goodness, efforts or religious practices, but because of what Jesus has accomplished for you. He died for your sins and paid the penalty of death so that you can receive “the gift of God [which] is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”.
We have all sinned and broken God’s laws. Personally, most of us don’t expect or even want law breakers to go unpunished. We live in society knowing that crime is unacceptable and where justice and appropriate penalties for crime are expected. The law breaker deserves or ‘earns’ his punishment. The Bible says “the wages of sin is death”. Our sin is what separates us from God and spiritual death and eternal judgement is what we earn and deserve because of it. That is justice for all of us!
However, God in His love and mercy has provided salvation for us because Jesus paid the penalty for our sins. Because of what Jesus has done for us “all who call upon the Lord shall be saved”. That is the gospel/good news! Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
If you are willing to repent of sin and trust Jesus to save you, you can call up the Lord right now and receive the gift of salvation. If you are willing to do that, to repent and believe you can call upon the Lord to save and forgive you.
Pray this prayer with faith and sincerity;
"Father God I admit that I am a sinner and need your salvation. Forgive me for all my sins. I believe Jesus died for my sins and Lord I ask you to save me. I now confess Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Thankyou for forgiveness, salvation and the gift of eternal life. In Jesus name, amen."
Please let us know if you have prayed this and received Jesus as your Saviour. You are now a "new creation", a brand new person who is called to follow Jesus. See what comes next on the TRANSFORMATION page.
